Sweet Smoke in Oakville

LCMB Sep 21, 2008 07:41 AM

I'm thinking of heading to Sweet Smoke in Oakville next weekend. Any reviews?
Any must haves or things to avoid? There's no prices on their website, is it good value?

It is expensive. Pulled pork sandwich is about $9 and a bit on the small side. However, it is very tasty. My wife really enjoys the shrimp quesadila. It's baked, not fried, and very cheesy. One of the best quesadillas we've ever tasted.

I can second the pulled pork sandwich. I'd recommend it over the cuban, though both are very very good. I enjoyed the ribs as well, but they weren't on the same level as the pork. Their baked beans are quite good. I didn't find it overpriced, but it's certainly not a bargain.

I find it very expensive, even my takeout order is only a pulled pork sandwich with a mac & cheese on the side (which is very small by the way) and its over $15

I agree it is rather pricey especially if you have to drive from Markham to get there. I really enjoyed their cubano sandwich, it was really tasty. Their tortilla soup is fantastic too. I was also disappointed with their ribs.

Horrible value -- incredibly overpriced which is why I only do take-out

But "must haves" would be their pulled pork sandwich or their cuban sandwich... They are dynamite. And their "tortilla soup" is supposedly also very good although I've never tried it

Avoid the ribs; I did not enjoy them at all
