good sushi in tacoma area?

A co-worker is heading up to Tacoma from Southern California, and is looking for a good sushi place. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Perk, Tacoma's sushi offerings are not quite as good as Seattle. Fujiya is a downtown tradition since 1984. In nearby Fife, Sapporo offers exceptionally affordable sushi served by the owner's family who will make you feel like a regular your first time. Neither offers anything exotic. If your friend wants to try something other than Japanese, I suggest Maxwell's as a very Chow-worthy destination.
