Butcher Shops in Broward?

  • 7

Does anyone know of any good butcher shops in Broward? West Broward is prefered, but beggars can't be choosy! Thanks!

  1. i keep kosher in the house so typical butcher shops are not for me but i understand that the Penn Dutch grocery store on 441 just south of Sample margate has a great butcher department.

    1. Smitty's is an excellent, old fashioned butcher shop, replete with sadust on the floor. Unfortunately for you, it's on the east side of town, on Floranada just west of US1.

I like Doris' Italian Market for meats. Locations in Hollywood, Lauderhill, and Coral Springs

I second Penn Dutch. Produce is dodgy, but their meats are great. In-law is a food snob and has no problem and enjoys their meats.

Hey gblcsw, Just got back from Smitty's...Great Call! Just what I was looking for. All the beef is prime grade, and they have REAL veal shanks (not that thin cut junk that they sell at the supermarkets) to make Osso Bucco. Thanks for the tip! Its worth the drive!

        3. Thanks guys! I will definately visit Penn Dutch and Smitty's. I have a Doris near me in Plantation that is ok; sounds like Smitty's is what I am looking for.
          Thanks again!

I also just checked Smitty's out for the first time this is a real buthcer shop.
All the meat looked wondeful. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
            Thanks!
