55898 Fri Sep 12 23:31:30 -0700 2003 0 2 Los Angeles Area 0 290099 Had an ok meal at Sushi Roku in Old Town Pasadena (33 Miller Alley, near Il Fornaio and Colorado and Fair Oaks) but there was one unexpected extraordinary dish: the "Jalapeno Roll". This was a typical looking rice/seaweed roll, but in the middle there was a crunchy deep fried jalapeno - amazing depth of flavor, very mild heat, and an aftertaste that could do a 1961 Mouton Rothchild justice.
