Brandywine Brewpub

Anyone know if the old owner is ever planning on reopening at another location? My wife and I used to love that place. The only brewpub I knew of w/ decent beer and really good food. Not to mention the pretzels with apple mustard and spicy mustard...So good. *sigh*

  1. I hear you! I used to work nearby and always hit BBC after my shift. Now I live in DE again (10 years later- ouch!) and would love to find something similar.

I think he tried to open this Shaggy's Place in Newark but that folded too. Remember how the Brandywine Brewing Co. used to be that Polo Club place? That's going back a few years...

Going back a few more years, I used to wait tables there in the 80's when it was the Greenery Too! Dave Dietz owned the BBC and then was a partner in Shaggy's briefly. Last I heard, he is out of the restaurant biz and is now in insurance. Dave is a former classmate and did a good job with the BBC - sorry it closed. Funny, Darius Mansoory (WA St. Ale House, Mikimotos, Stingray) was another classmate of ours - small world, 6 degrees in DE is actually 3.

I'm pretty sure one of the owners of the Polo Club was another classmate of yours too.
