good brunch at glenora grill edmonton
I had my second breakfast at glenora grill today. i have been searching for a place that serves REAL maple syrup with good french toast (brioche if possible). I was pleased to see that they do use maple syrup, and though the bread they used was very good, i'm quite sure it wasn't brioche. but good anyway. the meal, which was around 9 dollars, came with a few potato rounds/homemade salsa - which i thought was good but a bit strange - warm strawberries (frozen, not fresh, but pretty good), and a small bowl of fresh fruit, including mango, kiwi and pineapple. The fruit had a lime yogurt sauce. All portion sizes were reasonable.
Not a perfect, amazing breakfast, but for the price, and compared with most breakfast spots in Edmonton, I was happy.
My partner had the lox eggs benedict. It was a couple dollars more than the toast, but they didn't skimp on the salmon. The yolks were perfectly poached, but the hollandaise was a bit too thick or fake or something. The taste of it was not bad, but maybe a bit bland. The dish came with the same hash brown things (just more of them) and the fruit cup.
I would give it a 7.5/10. Maybe an 8.
I am not familiar with the Glenora Grill, where is it? The spot in the B & B perhaps?

Bob, it is the spot you are thinking but no longer affiliated w/the B&B afaik. It has been renamed Glenora Bistro, and is now operated by Norm Campbell of Normand's. I haven't had brunch there, but dinner was nice. I see that they have added cassoulet to their menu, so I will probably return.
In case the name was throwing you off, this is their website:

Thanks very much. May be I will pop in. Have not had cassoulet for years or those baked duck legs.
