[DFW] Butcher selling lamb and goat?

I am new to the DFW area (and Texas for that matter) and live in Richardson. I am looking for a good butcher that sells lamb (ground, chops, leg, rack) and goat meat. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance DFW hounders!

    1. There's a place on the 75 service road (west side) between Belt Line and Spring Valley (I THINK it's at Floyd) that says they sell Cabrera (goat). I haven't been in. There are a lot of halal butchers around Richardson too, and don't they all sell goat and lamb? I'm sorry I can't be more specific there, I just know I've seen sign while driving around town.

I have bought lamb at Costco, Central Market, and Sprouts. It was all good.

        1. Try Zaituna on Belt Line, I'm sure they have plenty lamb and maybe goat. Most of the grocery stores around here ought to carry lamb, at least the ones that don't suck anyway. Also Rehoboth Rance does lamb, you can find them at most of the local farmer's markets. I'm not sure about goat, I'd just check the halal butchers and Mexican groceries if I were you.

            1. re: luniz

I would agree with luniz on this one. Zituna would be my first place I would check and then look up Rehobath Ranch and I would go for a Halal butcher at any middle eastern and some Indian grocers.

Our "local foodie" firend from Austin, Ryan has a blog devoted to offal meats/strange game. He had a post about Zituna you might check out!

              • I would try David's Meat Market on Jupiter, between Belt Line and Arapaho. They have never, ever let me down.
