ISO: Du Puy Lentils - French Green Lentils

Hi,

Looking for a good lead on where I can get good Du Puy (or Le Puy, as some folks call 'em) lentils. These are amazing French green lentils and aside from once at Trader Joe's in Marlton, I have never seen them. I live in Haddonfield and will drive an hour if need be. Thanks Chowhounders, i know one of you will be able to help me!

Jane

I have found the lentils in Whole Foods in Millburn and the ShopRites (in the natural food section bulk bins) in Franklin Twp. and Flemington. They are the best.

I haven't looked there myself, but have you tried Wegman's? There's a branch in Cherry Hill as well as one in Mt. Laurel. It might be wise to call first.

Whole Foods sells them in bulk & Dean and Deluca as well as Kalustyan's sells them (if you found yourself in the city).

That's a toughie. I also like them. I used to get them at Williams-Sonoma, but they discontinued carrying them. I've not come across them anywhere else in NJ. Since we go to Manhattan regularly, I now get them at Kalustyan's, on Lex, b/t 28th & 29th Sts. If that's more than an hour's drive for you, you can buy on-line from them.
