Hello,
I'm eating at Ad Hoc in a few weeks would love some suggestions as to where to get a drink before a 7:15 reservation. It doesn't necessarily be in Yountville but somewhere that's not too far a drive. Thanks in advance for your help!

If you want beer, Pacific Blues at the market place down a block. Hurley's has a nice bar for cocktails. Makes a good bloody mary. Wine bar at Napa Style in the market also.

Just next door to Ad Hoc is Redd - very noisy and convivial bar, from what I've seen.

I would also suggest REDD. You might also try Bouchon. The bar is not very large but if the weather is nice there are tables outside where you can enjoy some cocktails (and some oysters if you would like). Pacific Blues is great for beer but is is very casual spot.

I love the bar at Bouchon. And the alcohol/spirits selection is great.
Bistro Jeanty has an OK bar.

But what may be the most fun: Head west under the Washington Street overpass (the equivalent of about 2 blocks), and take an immediate right into the driveway of Domaine Chandon. Lovely setting to drink some very fine bubbly. I'd get a split of the Etoile, or sample the fine (and unusual) red
wine called Pinot Meunier. But I'm a wine head, and you may need something stiffer.
