Troquet or Meritage for light bite Fri nite?

Flight arrives Boston 8:30, we are hoping we can make a 9:30 reservation (staying at Intercontinental). Will we be more welcome, ordering only light dishes/small plates and a glass of wine at that hour, at Troquet or Meritage? Meritage is closer to the hotel but we don't want to feel pressured to do a huge meal and go to bed on a bursting gut!!

I prefer Troquet to Meritage but under your circumstances, I think I'd just take a water taxi from the airport to the Intercontinental and walk practically next door to Meritage.

Thanks for the idea - I googled City Water Taxi - does this save time vs. getting a "land" taxi? it sounded a bit complicated taking bus #66 then calling from the wharf for the water taxi... appreciate any advice... a little off topic but all about getting to the chow on time!

I think the water taxi makes regular stops at the airport side. It's not a big time saver but it's a nice way to get from the airport to downtown.

My vote goes to Troquet. Love the relaxing environment, the cheese selection and a choice of 2oz or 4oz pours on the wine.
