Ottawa restaurant gift certificate for wedding

kgebhard Sep 17, 2008 07:13 AM

I would like to buy some pretty serious foodies a gift certificate in Ottawa to a restaurant for a wedding gift. I'm thinking Beckta- would this still be considered one of the best?
Any other suggestions?

Friends just got back from Ottawa - did Beckta and Domus. Loved Beckta - service, food, the whole package. Did not love Domus - food not as good, service definitely not as good but price tag relatively the same...

Uh oh. I went with Domus since I know they have done Beckta a few times. I also thought it would be more bang for the the buck! I hope it's okay.

I heartily agree with Domus and I would add Whalesbone Oyster House and Ambiente to the list.

My last evening at Beckta left me a little cold so I'm not going to shout the praises there.

I haven't been but I know from my Ottawa connections that those are all good suggestions. You'll find their websites within the place links below.

108 Murray St, Ottawa, ON K1N5M6, CA

85 Murray St, Ottawa, ON K1N5M5, CA

For serious foodies, Beckta is the best option in Ottawa. Depending on your budget, you may wish to consider getting a cert. for the the tasting menu. I've recently received this and am really keen to try it.

If you want to do something a little unusual (and perhaps they have done Beckta a few times), perhaps Sweetgrass Aboriginal Bistro. Domus is also highly reccomended.

            All places have internet sites.
