Need recs Bennington, VT

We'll be in the area for a wedding in mid-October. Anything worth mentioning in the area? We'll be there for a few non-wedding meals, so any recs at all are appreciated. Fancy, no-fancy, whatever. Also...any good orchards nearby? It's that time of year!

    Pangaea, in North Bennington, is one of the best kitchens in New England. For orchards, there's the Apple Barn, just south of town on Rt. 7, a little touristy, but maybe that's what you want. Bennington will be crowded during mid-October, the height of leaf-peeping season.
