Little Italy, Romantic

I know there has been so many posts about Little Italy, but I don't have much time to search and read. What's the best restaurant in Little Italy to have a nice romantic dinner, nice glass of wine, and great food. I want Red Sauce Italian.

Check out my report done a while ago now but hopefully still useful:

I just went to Carmen and had a great time. It's very romantic and cozy. They have good sized wine list. They do have some red sauce dishes, but I wouldn't go there if I were only looking for very traditional red sauce Italian.

Not sure I'd call them romantic, but my favorite Italian-American places in this neighborhood include Massimino's, Pagliuca's, and Rabia's. The Daily Catch does good Sicilian-American style seafood, specializing in squid (cash only). I like the Neapolitan-inspired pizza at Pizzeria Regina. Antico Forno does nice wood-fired-oven pizzas and baked pastas at pretty reasonable prices.

My personal favorites tend not to be red-sauce places, like Prezza, whose menu combines upscale, pan-regional, creative Italian food and luxury wood-grilled steaks and chops (it's pretty expensive, but portions are big -- my and my honey generally split an app, pasta, and entree). Real Southern Italian from Campania on down including the two big islands (with occasional fusion-y Peruvian touches) can be found at Taranta, which also does wonderful seafood. I'm also fond of the Roman-leaning menu at MarcO.

I'm sorry that I referred to it wrong. The North End is what I mean.
