Best Hamburger in Fairfield County
Any new places that have exceptional burgers with excellent quality beef? Still can't find one that is really worth the visit. I only eat them very rarely but when I do I want a big juicy burger where I am assured the beef is only the best quality. My stomach can tell immediately, it is sensitive to not good quality food. Also a great bun would be good too but no seeds have an intestional disease that I can't have. If you know what kind of beef they use please let me know.
Thanks again

cherry street east makes one tasty burger. had one today for a late lunch at the bar. they grind their own meat every day, grill it to your specification and serve it on a tasty (housemade?) roll. sub the onion rings for the fries and you should be one happy customer. pleasant service, comfy bar stool and decent draft beers seal the deal. i'll be back.

re: steve h.
I have to say my husband and I went to CSE last week and we were disappointed. The buns were cold, not steamed or toasted, and a lot bigger than the meat. The meat was OK, just a little greasy, and not very beefy. My cheeseburger didn't come with lettuce tomato or onion slice. The fries tasted of fish (Oil change needed?) The onion rings were very good if you like the heavily breaded kind. I was surprised we found our meal just so-so. Maybe they just were having a bad day???

re: nbermas
Best (inexpensive) burger around is at Burgers Shakes & Fries.
Really good burger to be found at Brennan's in Stamford.
Burger Bar Bistro has very good quality meat, burgers are inventive...I like it.
Cherry Street East and Rory's are pretty much of the same ilk...a rung below the aforementioned, in my opinion.
Telluride has a good (more expensive) burger.
Any place serving Kobe or Wagyu should be considered.

Here is jfood's review from August 14, 2007 on Burger Bar.
Well with all the talk of burgers, Cherry Street East still not open, the weather inperfect shape, jfood decided to try Burger Bar in SONO, CT. Ordered Bacon Cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato (no onion), a hot dog and some sweet potato fries.
- Fries were really good, thin strips, nicely fried with large grounds of salt on them Jfood gives them an 8
- Hot Dog was disappointing but we have some great dogs in the area nd the BB dog just does not hold up to Swankys’, Chez, and nowhere close to Super Duper. Jfood can only give the dog a 4
- Cheeseburger – Let’s just get the bad news out of the way. NEVER serve lettuce that is turning brown, it does not get the custom in a good mood. The bun was a little weak, not enough flavor for jfood. The tomato was disappointing especially given the time of year and the tomatoes that are available. Now onto the important stuff, the burger. The size is absolutely perfect for a burger, stated at 7 oz on the menu. The texture and quality of the meat was outstanding and they served it cook PERFECTLY, still heavy pink inside. Major kudos. Bacon and cheese were perfectly cooked and melted on top of the burger. The only negatives jfood can give the burger was the seasoning. Some may like absolutely nothing added to the meat but jfood likes a little something to show a little love. The meat was just that, meat. Jfood will rate this part of the meal on the burger, cheese and bacon a 9. The bun tomato receive a 6.But this is the best burger jfood has eaten outside casa jfood since cherry street east burned down.
Now to BSF - It is a fantastic burger. Do a search and you will see jfood could not give it higher marks.

To summarize the Houdini disappearing posts:
- BSF has a great burger
- Cherry Street East in NC has a very good burger
- Lucky's is not as good as either
- Burger Bar below both as well
- If you want to cross over into Bedford NY go to Meetinghouse, that may be a good idea as well. If you check the kitchen and find it does not meet the standards you need, you canorder something else.›1 Reply -

re: Jim P
I just have heard that the quality of beef isn't really that great because they get away with the quality since they sell so many burgers. I want the best quality beef when it comes to my burger as I eat them very rarely. I don't want a fast food burger.. I am sure it is great for kids and for someone who eats them and want to eat fast. I want a burger that is big, juicy and is only the best beef.

Burger bar in SoNo. Oh you know where I had an incredible burger? Chocopologie of all places. Definitely one of the best I have had up here. Actually forget Burger bar. I just said that because it has the word burger in it. Go to Chocopolgie and try their burger.

re: UWStoSONO
I love this place it has the best chocopolgie coffee with lavender and of course chocolate, I buy it and it last in my refridge for a week, I drink a few sips a day. I love the food but would never think of ordering a burger there. Why did you like the burger as compared to burger bar? Is the meat great quality? Thanks
