block island recommendations

heading to block island this weekend and was looking for some recommendations. having done a search on this board we will check out Eli's. seafood places would be great. if there is something similar to P-town's Clem and Ursie's on block island that would be even better!

The Manasses Inn has wonderful food in a beautiful place. It's pricey - $435entrees or so, as I recall from a couple years ago. I recommend the venison and the scallops in particular.

The little clam shack next to the moped rental place right downtown had very good fried fish. Also pricey. (As is everything on the island, I gather.)

Manisses is outstanding. My wife and I had a wonderful, outdoor dinner there this past July.

I know it's a chain, but we had a delicious lunch at Dead Eye Dick's in New Harbor a couple of seasons ago (it was closed for lunch the weekend we were there this year). We both had fresh fish sandwiches on sturdy ciabatta that were so good. Believe it or not, it's a bit difficult to find fresh fish on Block Island. You might want to check out some of the nicer hotels (Spring House, Manisses, etc) as nicer dinner options.

I was underwhelmed by everything I tried there except for Eli's, which was fantastic. It's highly recommended.

you mean there is food on Block Island? And here I always thought there was just booze, LOL!
