After 3 visits, my verdict on Five Guys

A great burger hidden under a lot of grease. Yesterday, I had lunch at one of the Orlando locations (Altamonte Springs), and being pregnant I ordered the big bacon cheeseburger with a bunch of stuff on it, and fries. 2 out of 3 visits the fries have been really good. I have to give them a thumbs up, even though they were pretty greasy on the second visit. But yesterday when I opened my burger, I could tell from how oily the outside of the foil was that it wasn't going to be better inside . . . and it wasn't. The top bun was hard as a rock and covered in oil of some kind. It was disgusting. I went to the counter and asked for a new bun. Once I got my entire burger transplanted onto the new bun, it was awesome! Really good burger. So I think I'm just going to have to ask for an extra bun each time. They should probably start charging an extra 25 cents for it, because I'm serious about the extra bun. Or else drain those patties before plopping them on there. How hard would that be?

  1. I think their burgers are just too big and greasy. I like the grilled cheese with bacon and tomato, because it leaves me plenty of room for all those good spicy fries. Yummy!

    1. We drove up to Ocala on Saturday to pick up a part, and also to eat @ 5Guys.
This visit I asked for the Cajun fries-done extra crisp. I got the little burger w/grilled onions, mushrooms, relish, mayo and ketchup. Next time no relish-I'm not sure what I was thinking. The relish made the sandwich totally too wet. That didn't stop me, it was quite good and the fries were fantastic. This location the crew seems to have fun together. At one point everyone was singing with the radio.
