Vegitarian Pho in Chinatown

Does any one have a rec for a good Veggie Pho in Chinatown ? I would need a place that used a vegetable broth as opposed to Chicken based.

Thanks for the help.

I haven't been in ages, but Pho Pasteur used to have a spicy vegetarian soup with tofu, noodles, and pineapple, of all things. An alternative might be Shabu Zen, where you can select the broth and ingredients.

No idea, but just for clarification, Pho is generally based on **beef stock**, not chicken -- unless you were referring to "Chicken Pho" which some places carry (pho hoac mi ga).

Thanks for the heads up. It is true that Pho is based on a beef broth, but a lot of Pho shops will offer a Pho Chay (vegetable) with chicken based broth.

I like Buddha's Delight for vegetarian stuff, and their dishes have a Vietnamese bent to them for sure. They do an excellent vegetarian hu thieu nam vang, but I don't know if they have anything pho-flavored (with anise and such).

Too bad it's shut down two weeks ago for some 30 serious health violations.
