RI Dinner Club ...?

I tried searching the New England forums but didn't come up with much.

My husband and I are interested in a dinner club with about 3 or 4 couples. We were in a dinner club while living in Florida, and loved it.. We went to different homes once every 6 weeks. Let me know your thoughts.

Oddly, I didn't discover providencepalate until Saturday, when my server at Gracie's mentioned it while commenting on my camera. That's a good resource.

I was thinking more of preparing dinner for the group and everyone taking turns once a month er so.

I've heard of a group or two around in the past... They mostly form around enthusiasts at certain workplaces.

It's a nice idea. Let me know if you succeed. I might be interested, but unfortunately don't have the time to organize such a thing. :(

Definitely check out Providence Palate as well. If somehow we could combine this site's level of activity and interface with PP's freedom of posting topics and insider users = perfect Providence food message board...

Cooking Light has popularized the idea of supper clubs on it's website. There is a dedicated portion of their website/bulletin boards for supper club members/organizers. The idea of the supper club is a group of folks that get together monthly to cook and eat great food. Recipes don't generally have to be cooking light I don't think. It seems like the club will pick a theme and choose the food around that. I've never participated - too busy with school right now. But you might check out their website for more info on how to organize or even find an already existing one to join.
