Kosher weddings in New England

Hi...I was wondering if anyone knew of any kosher catering halls & hotels in New England. I have a client who wants to get married up there and could use some help. Thanks!

New England is big... Where were you thinking?

Certainly, Kosher caterers can go almost anywhere (Catering by Andrew is the biggie of many in the Boston area and there are a few in the Providence metro). If you're looking for a full service, top-down kosher dining and event hall, I know there is one in Western Mass. I actually have friends getting married there next March.

I just recently got married (shabbat in Providence, wedding Sunday in Boston) and used caterers in both locales. Let me know if you're interested in and I can contact you off site to give you my impressions...

PS: When dealing with non-kosher (i.e. virtually all) venues, be VERY, VERY careful about how they order Kosher wine. They'll charge you rediculous markups for "special orders" for wines that are, in general, the same or lesser costs than the non-kosher wines they normally use, which is complete BS... If dealing with very observant guests, remember to keep mevushal vs non-mevushal in mind...

      Hi
Thanks so much for your reply! I was thinking of the Cape. The bride is totally open to suggestion she just wants a destination wedding. She and her family are not kosher but will be inviting quite a few guests who are. I am not jewish so some of this is foreign to me. I know that Boston/Cambridge area is on the pricey side as I lived in Worcester for several years. I was even thinking Providence area. Any guidance you could give me would be much appreciated!

Catering by Andrew in Brookline is one of the best kosher caterers around. All you need is a venue. The Gan Academy in Waltham, MA is nice and they already have a kosher kitchen, but I don't think it matters, since they make the food offsite anyway.

Where at in New England? Boston will give you the greatest number of options and possibly be able to support other communicties in NE - you might also post this to the kosher board of CH -

Thanks for the advice I am new to this site so...not all that familiar. My original idea was to have the wedding on the Cape. Boston/Cambridge maybe a little outside their budget. I lived in MA for a few yrs so I know the area somewhat.

La Renaissance in CT has a large venue and in-house catering...I think it's in East Windsor.

In CT the Crown http://www.thecrownmarket.com/caterin... can handle the food. Talk to them about venues.

There are a few hotels in Boston and Cambridge that offer kosher catering. Is that what you had in mind?

I have the name of a person who does kosher catering in the Portsmouth NH area--you would have to arrange a venue though.
