Ft Lauderdale - scenic dining?

kapuku Sep 14, 2008 09:27 AM

Any recommendations for scenic dining locations for a group in Ft Lauderdale? I'm thinking something waterfront: New River, Intercoastal, beach. Cuisine not important, although we're not looking for a chain (ie, Chart House).

Thanks in advance!
Erik

Casablanca's along Ft. Lauderdale Beach is our favorite scenic dining. With a bit more money go to H2O in the Las Olas Beach Resort at A1A and Las Olas (on the beach).
St. Bart's is for breakfast along the beach. Sloppy Joes at Beach place is the best view .. babes, beach, football, bar, etc. Hooters girls (next door) come in every 15 minutes during football season to check the scores on their Direct TV season ticket.
The is Ceros at the Ritz for the privledged!

3030 Ocean at the Marriott Harbor Beach in Ft. Laud. The food is better than the others listed here, and it has an ocean view.

If you want some ocean view and don't want to spend a lot of money try Thai on the beach on a1a near sunrise. Some of the best thai food around!

I would highly reccomend the Sea Watch, it is just north of Commercial Blvd on A1A directly on the ocean. Best Margaritas ever! Have one upstairs on the outside deck, beautiful! And the food and service are exceptional also, I entertain clients there at lunch often. Nothing like it in Fort Lauderdale.
Pelican Grand Hotel between Sunrise and Oakland on A1A is also a lovely place for breakfast, beautiful setting right on the beach

Aruba Beach Cafe is right on the sand at A1A and the eastern terminus of Commercial Blvd (is that the correct usage of "terminus"?) :-) Somehow it sounds better than "end". :-)

Some other ideas are also here:

River House, right on River Walk in the Himmarshee area of downtown, overlooking the New River, has decent food and lovely outdoor dining overlooking (what else?) the river..

not to eat, but for a drink, the revolving top of the Hyatt is great, especially if you arrive before the sun sets
