  1. I noticed that yesterday sometimes while editing a post or two, but then when I posted, the duplicate text didn't appear.

Oops - I think I misunderstood what is happening to capeanne - what I have seen is the text of my post showing up twice when I'm editing.

    2. There is an add line that is at the top of the page that sometimes takes a long time to load. If you move your cursor over something before the line loads in, it gives the appearance of "jumping".

I haven't seen the double lines of text though.

      1. I have had the same problem at times of double lines of text appearing - it doesn't usually last long though, but it is something I've noticed over the last while. It does seem to be a problem while a page is still loading - will try be more vigilant and see if I can notice exactly when it happens!

        1. The past couple of days, whenever I've tried to edit a post, I'll get a message that says "loading" in the message box itself while the message I'm trying to edit appears beneath the message box. When the message eventually appears in the box, it also appears in duplicate beneath the box. If I edit the message in the box and click on "save," the message appears twice in a single message box, the edited one above and the unedited one below. I have to copy my edited message, re-edit, delete the two messages and paste in the corrected message.

I can't put my finger on it at the moment, but there was at least one message yesterday or the day before where the same thing had clearly happened to someone else: essentially the same text appearing twice, one right after the other, in a single message box, with the text of one very slightly different from the text of the other.

When I noticed "double text" in a post that I was editing, when I saved it, only one copy of it showed up in the post. I did notice something like what you are describing, though, in a post - maybe on the Manhattan board.

          2. There's obviously some lag time between the "thanks for posting" message and being able to reply to your own just-posted message, but the above is an example of what I'm talking about. Went to edit the first message, saved it, and both messages got posted one after the other with the edited message above and the unedited message below.

I've had that double post happen once or twice where I edited the "temporary post marker" (your initial post that shows up after "thanks for posting") before refreshing the page to see my actual post.

That's interesting. All these years and I don't think I was ever aware there was such a thing as a temporary post marker. I've been editing my posts without refreshing for ages. Never saw this double post phenomenon until a day or two ago.

Thanks for the workaround. It was beginning to be a pain.
