Hello:

I will be in the Hollywood/Studio City area working and also celebrating my husbands birthday. Any suggestions on great intimate restaurants? We love great food, specifically seafood. Thanks

Providence is the gold standard for seafood in LA and is in Hollywood (on Melrose near Wilcox).

Go with Bodie's suggestion and you will be happy!

Firefly in Studio City has awesome patio seating and I always find it a romantic setting with the candles and curtains + fireplace.

Firefly is an incredibly beautiful setting, although the food at Providence is preferable. I would also suggest Mozza, I have celebrated a couple of birthdays there VERY happily.

You didn't mention budget --- but if budget is an issue (i.e., Providence - which is amazing), I'd suggest Hungry Cat.

If you want to stay in Studio City and want a delightful dinner which always has two or three fresh fish of the day, has romantic decor, but is a bit noisy on the bistro scale I would heartily recommend Mistral on Ventura Blvd. This restaurant has to be one of the best in the area along with Max. Max recently redecorated and I have not been in there so i cannot comment on the decor but certainly the food is top end.
