Attaching a recipe

GK in SO Sep 12, 2008 07:45 AM

I searched to find an answer to this question, w/out any luck, please help anyone!

On the boards, can I attach a recipe that's in Word format? Or, do I somehow need to post to the recipe board then link somehow?

BTW, I tried doing this with the "attach photo" button w/out success.

You can't attach a word file, no. If it's your own recipe and not copyright to someone else, you should be able to just open the file and copy and paste it in. You could also enter it as a User Recipe into the database: http://www.chow.com/recipes/new and then paste the web address of your entered recipe into your home cooking post.

As far as I know, the only files you can attach are photos, such as a jpeg. On the Home Cooking board, posters usually just paraphrase a recipe in a post. There's also the "Recipe" section (link next to Chowhound at the top) where you can also add a recipe, but I've not used that function.
