lunch spots within walking of the Vancouver Cancer Clinic/VGH

Hi all, looks like I may be spending some time around Vancouver General Hospital area. Anyone know of good lunch spots/possible dinner spots around VGH area.... any kind of cuisine, any price range is fine.... just good food....

Thanks!

If you want somewhere nearby and you're around for a while, I think you try Sha Lin noodle house. Then you can wade fully informed into the ongoing sha lin/peaceful/legendary noodle debate. New opinions and fresh palates welcome!

(Legendary is a little further away on Main Street @ 26th but worth a visit if noodles are your thing).

And if you are there for Dinner make sure you go to TENHACHI, its just down the street from VGH on 12th located in the Shaughnessy Hotel at 1125 W 12th. Don't let the appearance fool you, this place is incredible and priced well.. I love their miso cod.

Their lunch hours arent the best so I would try for dinner if you are in the area around 5pm.

If you got the time, walk down to Granville and go to Rangoli. I love it there.

Rich Ocean for Dim Sum, order before 12, all Dim Sum is $2.99 - 777 W. Broadway.
        Banana Leaf (Malaysian) - 820 W. Broadway.
Favorito Pasta Trattoria - 552 W. Broadway. (I like the home made lasagna best).
        A Taste of Vietnam - 1016 W Broadway.

These are some of my faves for lunch that haven't been mentioned already, as I work in this area. There are TONS of options available to you though!

That location is their test kitchen for the chain IIRC. I should try out the CC again - I have not been since the Feenie makeover. It's been a popular choice for lunch with co-workers in the past.

Yes, that's right. It's the test kitchen. I'm not sure the Feenie items can be found at other locations (I glanced at the menu on Robson and didn't see them).

I believe that the new Cactus Club in Bentall 5(?) have Feenie food. I should check it out soon (despite my prejudices).
