Saturday breakfast, East 20s/30s?

A visiting friend wants to take me out for "early brunch" around 10AM this Saturday morning in the East 20s or 30s, though probably anywhere in midtown would do. Any recommendations for a tasty place that's serving then, say for less than $20 a person? Traditional breakfast dishes or something more ethnic would fly. Thanks!

Les Halles or L'express both on Park Ave south in the 20-30's something

I often had breakfast at Les Halles and always thought it was excellent and not too expensive. Their French press coffee is excellent.

Penelope is great, there can be quite the wait for brunch, although you should be okay at the hour. The veggie burger is delicious.

Penelope, on the corner of Lex & 30th, opens at 8 a.m. A la carte or brunch prix-fixe @ $13. I've only had lunch there, but I notice that the spinach pie I had is on the brunch menu. Yum! Pleasant atmospherics with kitchy decor.
