Sightlines - Rogers Centre (NEVER AGAIN!)
Don’t mean to be ‘negatron’ but Sightlines Restaurant inside the Rogers centre SUCKS
A friend of mine was staying at the hotel so decided to just go to this restaurant.
Wanted simple food
Well…place needs an ENEMA!
Arrived around 730pm (Monday, Sept 1st long weekend)
Greeted okay by Manager
About 3 tables of 2 when we walked in.
4 people at the bar.
We sat there for 5 minutes, yes some state or embellish but it was 5 whole friggin minutes and the place was DEAD…(we laughed about it, as when we came we told the Manager we were thirsty and hungry)…so quite a long time to wait to be offered a beverage…..
The Young waiter finally came over and took out beverage order……
Well….he was more into the bartender and flirting then taking our drinks off the bar.
This was so comical that we just gave up pretty much.
The waiter not rude or crass, just CLUELESS with no peripheral vision OR get-to-it-ness of any kind
Now the food.
We ordered the mussels and calamari
Mussels good. Huge portion.
Calamari done to perfection, not the calamari-gum you get a most places.
But it lacked any zip. The side ‘dipping' sauce consisted of simply a bland mayonnaise mixture.Very bland
We finished and again sat there with plates done. And NADDA. No food check. No one to clear. Even looked for ‘hidden cameras’ ….cause hey, this has GOT to be a bad movie
The place was dead. The waiter more interested in ‘scoring’ the bartender and the so-called Manager leaned up against the bar and watched TV.
The older couple behind us was appalled by this. It was very uncomfortable to watch
There was absoloootely no care about customers and it seemed WE were imposing.
Or we felt that way.
We then decided, we could go or stay.
Most would go, but again we were there already, it was getting late and we were h-u-n-g-r-y! We ordered their Bison Burger, and chose to split it as the waiter stated it was a big one.
We went outside to have a much needed cigarette, came back only to find TA DA:
There was our burger sitting on the table. Very rude of him I thought.
I don’t know
But in my experience, if your customers have left the table, should he not have WAITED until we were AT the table to bring out the food? It wasn't 10 minutes before closing. It was now around 830pm.......sheesh!
Anyway burger was okay, tender…but will never ever eat at this place again.
It really makes me shake my head that this may be a tourist place but one would think that the Rogers Centre would up their staff and management and not make people feel as if they are intruding on their space.
