More Berlin questions
Hi everyone, I've read the last few months' worth of Berlin posts and have a few things to ask for our trip arriving Sept. 25-29 then back on Oct. 4. We're looking for a nice moderate dinner out, entrees in the 15-22€ range. Interesting German (or Continental) would be good in a fun "cool" environment. It'll probably be on a Sun. so that might limit the choices. Oberquelle sounds great but unless I'm missing something, their web site gives zero info. Are they open on Sun. and what's their price range? Also Maxwell sounds good and they seem to be open on Sun. Would we need to reserve in advance for a Sun. night? We're mostly staying in Schöneberg (last night in Charl.), going to SO36 the first night so cheap easy food needed then. Any part of town for the nice dinner is okay as long as it's close to a train.
A friend recommended Meineke X but I haven't seen that mentioned, should we go?
I want to go to the Winterfeldtmarkt but saw one person say it was on Sat. and another Sun. Is it one or the other or both?
Someone also mentioned that even nicer places might not take credit cards, is that true? I also saw an article about only cards that take a PIN are accepted in lots of places (at least in Scand), is that true in Germany (and Poland)?
For a nice relaxing cocktail, would you go to Green Door or Windhorst? Has W. been around a longo time and Green Door is newer? On the other end of the spectrum, I've got a long list of rock bars and wondered specifically if Jail, Knack, Paules Metal Eck and Wild at Heart were good. Or any other thoughts on those kinds of bars, shows, record stores (joanie@wmbr.org for non food stuff).
Are you pretty sure of a decent doner kebab from any stand or are there some to really avoid? What about a great flaky strudel?
Thanks for your help.

Oderquelle is open on Sundays, and they post their daily menu after 5 or 6 pm, alas, only in German.
SO 36 -- gotta go to Henne on Leuschnerdamm -- THE best fried chicken in town, and very cheap! The potato salad is great...
Winterfeldtmarkt is on Saturdays. See if you can find the Thai dumpling stand (they've been gone the last three weeks due to family illness in the homeland).
Always check about credit cards, Paparazzi is an excellent Italian place in Prenzlauerberg, but only accepts cash.
Best Döner is at Imren on Boppstr. / Neukölln. I'd stay clear of Hasir.
Both Green Door and Windhorst are great cocktail bars, so is Beckett's Kopf and Victoria Bar, the latter being a bit off the beaten track (Potsdamer Str. -- not a lot going on there).
Metal or rock bars aren't my usual hangouts '-) but Clash is a really nice, loud, dirty punk place in the Bergmannkiez, off of Gneisenaustr. Cheap beer, loud music, very colorful people. It's great fun.
