Dim Sum at Shanghai - Dalston, London

halfbayked Sep 9, 2008 05:02 PM

Had a terrific experience at the Shaghai restaurant on Kingsland Road (close to Dalston overground station). A truly massive spread of plates between five of us with plentiful supply of golden oolong tea came out at £45 all up, which was sensational value.

I'm really not well-versed in dim sum but there were certainly some great examples here; beef with watercress, chillied tripe, sticky chicken rice in lotus leaf...

Was a busy service for a Monday afternoon as well. Would be interested to hear if anyone else has tried this place out?

Didn't think much of the dim sum or the restaurant here; XLB's were flaccid, dishes arrived luke warm. Room is dirty & dillapidated.
