Son of Soizic

My wife swears she recently read that the owner of Soizic was in the process of opening a new restaurant in Oakland similar to Soizic but more "bistro-ish" and less expensive. I can't find any reference to it on line or anywhere else. Does anyone have any information about it? Thanks.

I work near MUA, and I love it. The food is mostly great, or at least good, but the cocktails are artisano. They make a Hendricks Gin "martini" with a dash of Elderflower liquor that is just perfection. Not too sweet, the herbal hendricks still shines, and it has a nose that's as secuctive as Theda Bara. They also make a basil "Mojito" with pepper that tastes like food. My foodie pal (who is very hard to please) pronounced it the best cocktail he'd ever had.
Go on Art Murmur night (1st Fridays) when all the neighborhood art galleries are open. It's a fun night out in Oakland.

This would be the space next door to Hertz? Is Cafe Noir still in the works or is this taking over that project?

Mua and Noir share the same building next to Hertz (Mua's address is 2442a). Noir has the smaller space up front and Mua takes up the rest of the building. Mua is open, Noir is still in the permit-seeking phase.
