Three days in NYC, what will replace Florent?

caraely Sep 9, 2008 02:18 PM

Will be in NYC for three nights next week, for work. I usually make a point of having steak frites at Florent, but sadly it's closed, which breaks my heart.

Are there any other places in Manhattan that come close to Florent? Relaxed, non-pretentious, with great bistro food that won't break the bank. Would love recommendations.

It's absolutely nothing like Florent, but...
Cosette perfectly fits the description of "Relaxed, non-pretentious, with great bistro food that won't break the bank"

If you're set on having tremendous fries with 0 decor, I'd suggest Pommes Frites on 2nd Ave btw 8th and 7th. They have at least a dozen things you can dip them in too. The place is a local favorite, let us know what you think.. wherever you end up going =)

Schiller's Liquour Bar on the Lower East Side....a perfect spot.
