Vietnamese coriander (rau ram)

Does anyone know where I can find Vietnamese coriander (rau ram) in Manhattan, or the boroughs? It is one of my favorite herbs, but I haven't been able to find any. Thanks in advance.

  1. I was at the Thai market on Mosco in Chinatown a couple of weeks ago and I believe they had it. You'll want to post on the Outer Boroughs board for suggestions there, I think.

Thanks, MMRuth!!! I will check it out. It drives me nuts that I couldn't find the darn thing.

I'll see if I can search for the name of it for you so you can call first.

Here's a link - and the website is posted above as well. If you do check or go, let me know if they do have it. I'm cooking from the Vietnamese COTM this month, but haven't had a chance to go down yet to get some of the things I need.

Awesome! I will let you know if they have it.

    2. Tan Tin Hung is the only majority Viet grocer I know of in Manhattan and they carry rau ram.

Thanks for that - didn't know there was a Vietnamese grocer in Manhattan.

FYI, I went to both the Thai market on Mosco and Tan Tin Hung. The Thai market does not carry Vietnamese coriander, but Tan Tin Hung does (among other VN goodies).

Thanks for the update - glad KT stepped in with a place that has it - I must have mistaken the rau ram for something else.

Cool! I'll check it out too. Thanks.

        3. Stokes Farm at the Union Square Greenmarket has Vietnamese coriander (they label it as Vietnamese cilantro). They are at the Greenmarket on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
