Looking for a swank bakery near Perth Amboy, NJ

One of my girlfriends is celebrating a big birthday this January, and she's looking for a fancy, multi-tiered, fondant-covered cake for her party. She likes the work of Pink Cake Box bakery (http://blog.pinkcakebox.com/) but they're closed the week of her birthday.

Can anyone recommend a stylish bakery in the Perth Amboy/Red Bank/Westfield area that can do a tasty, pretty, glamourous cake for her?

You sound like a great friend! You might want to contact Wegmans in Woodbridge, they have a fantastic bakery department and we have picked up many of their gorgeous creations as hostess gifts...I would not be surprised if they could help you out.
      Good luck!

about 10 min the "back way" from perth to port reading is Dorsi's Bakery, www.dorsisbakery.com. They made a decent cake. coming from Brooklyn I prefer true Italian bakeries (dorsi's is not, but they are good). Also on main st in Wdge, 10 min from perth, is la bon bonneire (across from st james church). they make a delicious whipped cream, far superior to wegmans. ive done bday cakes from there, they are slightly above average, traditional supermarket style. the best italian bakeries i have found in nj are Randazzo's in Bridgewater on Rt 202 N (maybe town of raritan there), and Bovella's in Westfield -- but neither are near Perth! Good luck.

Flakey Tart in Atlantic Highlands is fabulous.
