Butchers anyone?

Please help me.. I am looking for the real butcher shops where the butcher knows their cuts of meat.. I would like to know of the oldest surviving butcher shops in San Francisco if any... anina

Prather's not an old-school butcher, everything's precut and mostly frozen. It's all from their own ranch and they have some unusual stuff, not to mention that it's all grass-fed etc.

Ver Brugge on College Avenue in Oakland

Prather Ranch in the Ferry Building (not old school, but know their stuff)

The place on Cortland in Bernal Heights (can't think of the name). Anyone?

Avendanos is the place on Cortland in Bernal Heights. They're new but I now shop there more than anywhere else as I live nearby. They have a small to mid-size selection but the quality is usually quite high.
