ISO Best Pebble Beach/Carmel Restaurants

sweiner Sep 8, 2008 04:40 PM

I will be traveling to Pebble Beach for three nights in October and would love some recommendations on where to eat. We will be staying at The Lodge. It has been years since I've been to the area, so I'm not sure if there are any new spots that we must try. Please share your suggestions. Thanks.

      I love the Lodge.
Do dinner at Roys at Spanish Bay, you can use the resort shuttle. Get their early enough to enjoy the bagpiper well sitting at one of the firepits, and then retire to the fore pit after dinner for a drink.

I have stayed at both places, and I have found Spanish Bay to be less stuffy, with better views.

      I hope you enjoy yourself!!!

I agree that Roy's is very good, and the views are great. It's an easy hop over to Pacific Grove, where there are some very good restaurants. For lunch, Red House Cafe is excellent--a little small, so it gets crowded, but the food is the best. Also, Max's Grill and Taste Cafe and Bistro. In Carmel, I highly recommend Grasing's Coastal Cuisine and for Italian, Little Napoli. Enjoy!

what's this I hear about the Chacagua Store in the hills south of Carmel Valley? All organic, locally resourced foods, good wine list. Can anyone coroborate? The restaurant owned by the feisty caterer A Moveable Feast. Pricey but worth the 25 mile drive on a twisty mountain road?
