Restaurant recs for Fall River/Westport/ Point

Will be at Newport Boat Show but staying in Fall River area. Need good dinner recommendations for Wed Sep 10 and Thurs Sep 11. Hoping not to have to stay in Newport for dinner though I know there are a number of very good restaurants in Newport proper. (CROWDS - need I say more).

feelinpeckish, 4 votes for Back Eddy makes it sound like a must-do, but I'd do a board search, there have been a couple of recent bad reviews that I'd read to counter-balance what's below. I can't weigh in on what's going on there recently, I've only stopped for cocktails after the beach.

Been to Back Eddy's for lunch a few times this summer. Never had a problem. Love their stuffed quahogs, probably the best i've had in a long time. Spouse loved the salt cod salad and I enjoyed the black and blue tuna. Maybe lunch is different from dinner

I agree - go to Back Eddys.

a third vote for the Back Eddy. If it is a nice day or evening, the back deck can't be beat for a view and a half. Great fresh oysters too.

Both are great choices. BackEddy is great at sunset. uglyAmerican is a new place in Fall River.

I've never felt crowds in Newport were a big problem (even at the height of summer)....I'd have dinner there for atmosphere alone.

A decent choice in between the two would be The Boathouse in Tiverton....I really like it there.
