the mitsuwa hokkaido festival is back (and so are asameshi maeda honten and sumire ramen)
at various mitsuwa locations throughout the next two weekends (9/11-14 and 9/18-21). san jose gets santouka ramen for the first time. new jersey and costa mesa get asameshi maeda honten, and torrance and chicago get sumire.
there's also the other fun stuff like curry bread, crab bento boxes and whatnot.
oops that's right! thanks silver.i somehow had it fixed in my head as 'honten' all this time, and didn't even read the mitsuwa website carefully XD. as for the santouka connection, i do believe i posted about that when they were here earlier in the year for the umaimono food fest. it's a pretty different soup from santouka, an old-school asahikawa-style shoyu. santouka's manager said asameshi is like their grandfather or parent ramen shop, so it should be worth checking out at least. i missed it last time when they ran out on the the final day at 3pm. maybe i'll take an extra long lunch on thursday...
