Best Places to Eat in Southern Vt

I will he heading to Vermont and would like one nice dinner. Pretty much any cuisine besides Asian. Price really isn't an issue as long as it's worth it. Let me know--thanks!

  1. We just visited a friend in Wilmington and had a wonderful dinner last night at Ravello. It is in an old farm house with quaint small rooms for dining. It is not fine dining, but comfortable and farily well executed.
We were a party of 3 and had:
Calamari appetizer- very tender with a spicy marinara
Salami plate-good but a bit overpriced
Spaghetti with clams- Plenty of littlenecks, sauce was a little salty
Taglatelle (sp?) with parmesan and fresh tomatoes and garlic
    House made ravioli
    Dessert was profiteroles and coffee

We really enjoyed the fresh pastas. Service was friendly.
Dinner for 3 with wine was $150 including tip
We will be back when we return to the area

    1. There are many fine restuarants in southern VT. In West Dover, you have the Inn at the Sawmill Farm, Two Tannery Road. In Wilmington, besides Ravello's is the White House. In Newfane, there is the Old Newfane Inn and the Four Columns Inn. And in Brattleboro, there is Peter Havens.
      All are excellent!!

Just ate at the White House in Wilmington. We'd never been there after vacationing in the area for about six years. I wholeheartedly recommend it. I ordered the lobster macaroni and cheese and loved it. There are several beautiful dining rooms, but we at the the bar which was comfy and chic. The inn is decorated for Christmas and is absolutely stunning.

      2. We like Bennington Station in Bennington and I like the Gormet Deli in Manchester, for a nice hot lunch.....
