Mobile, AL Jerusalem Cafe

My husband and I spent the day in Mobile, we live in Biloxi, and were fortunate enough to stumble upon Jerusalem Cafe on Airport Rd. in Mobile.

Jerusalem Cafe is a small and authentic Middle Eastern resto. The prices are terrific, appetizers beginning around $4 and entrees around $6. We ordered the Jerusalem Feast to share, which at $18 was the most expensive item on the menu. It included soup or salad, hummus, pita, stuffed grape leaves, falafel, 3 kinds of kebab, rice, vegetables, gyros, and baklava, It was more than we could finish, but we gave it our best shot and everything we were served exceeded expectations. My favorite was the gyro, my husband loved the krass kebab and lentil soup.

The atmosphere is casual, but still very nice. The wait staff was always available and courteous, but not overbearing. Basically it was an experience that was all around pleasant enough to compel me to write it up. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

They don't serve it but you can take your own which I personally think is preferable.
