Hugo's Tacos opening in Atwater village.

Drove through Atwater and saw that they are working on a new Hugo's Taco's at the corner of Glendale Blvd. and Atwater Avenue.
I did a search, but all the reviews seem to be pretty old.
Any opinions? I'm always looking for a new lunch place!

My wife and I tried the one at Coldwater and Riverside a few weeks ago, and we both were woefully unimpressed. We didn't even bother finishing our tacos; just threw them away and vowed never to return.

That being said, maybe we hit it on an off night (though I doubt it); but it couldn't hurt to try the new one ... just report back please.

Well, I stopped at the new Atwater location tonight, and so far I'm REALLY underwhelmed. Had the "grilled fish" tacos; "fishy", but otherwise dull fish, uninteresting salsas (even as measured against La Salsa or Baja Fresh), lukewarm tortillas. Gimme Tacos Villa Corona, or even Wahoo, dude!

It wasn't an off-night. Why most of the south valley accepts such horrible food is beyond me? Other than Pico Pica Rico, I can't think of a decent taqueria in the valley that is west of the 170 and south of Burbank Blvd.

Poquito Mas should be opening in the next few weeks on Ventura Blvd. Maybe it can be added to your mix!
