Wallse or Daniel?

Which of these two places has the greater wow factor? I'm talking food, service, wine and cocktails. The whole picture.

While I haven't been to Wallse, I'll say Daniel definitely wows..

I haven't been to Daniel, and though I like Wallse, I would not consider it a "wow" and don't think it would be in the same league as Daniel.

Its hard to compare places at such different price points for "wow factor". I think its undeniable that Daniel has a much greater "wow factor" and also undeniable that you will be paying for that (which is fine if wow is your key consideration). I happen to like Wallse - but its not (and I dont think its intended to be) a wow place or have a wow priced menu.

I have not been to Daniel and I really enjoy Wallse, but I'd have to agree with rrems and say Wallse is not a Wow place. It was more of a comfort zone to me; kind of cozy with great food and service.

I don't know Wallse but I do know Daniel and it is a "wow" restaurant. Some people, not me, say it is too over the top with the decor, I tend to think it adds to the overall experience. If you decide on Daniel this is what I would suggest, arrive early enough to have a nice leisurely drink in their very nice lounge-y area, this way you get to experience the whole restaurant.

Has Daniel re-opened yet? They are reburbishing, and it willI be interesting to see if the decor will still be over-the-top glitzy.

I think they had planned on being by now but I can't confirm they are. It's going to be interesting to see what they come up with. Maybe the opposiate end of the spectrum, a subdued Daniel?

Looks like the 9th will be first day back.

Daniel by a wide margin. Wallse is very nice, but far from a "wow" place.

I agree - I've been to both, like both very much, but Wallse is not "wow".

Agree w/everyone else. While I haven't been to Daniel, I'd choose it over Wallse because Wallse does not have a great "wow" factor.

Apples and Oranges. Wallse is an upscale "neighborhoody" place with terrific comfort food--go there as often as possible, but in terms of wow it's a 3 next to Daniel's 9.5. Daniel is breathtakingly lovely with magical service, sublime cooking, divine wines.
