piggybacking off Hungry Rubia's thread on 50s and 60s cocktails, does anybody know of any lists showing the development and creation of cocktails by period? Any websites dedicated to cocktails by chronology? I've been reading Imbibe, which is a fantastic resource for pre-prohibition era drinks and am wondering where to expand from there.

Not online, but Gary Regan's book The Joy of Mixology has a fine opening chapter on the history of cocktails, covers the gamut in fifty pages. The rest of the book is quite enjoyable and useful, too, though the recipes aren't always perfect.
