i need to start eating healthier but i'm on the go alot and haven't had time to prepare meals for myself. there are a few options that i know of and i don't have the patience to modify no cheese, dressing on the side, no croutons etc. everywhere i go. any recs? doesn't have to be fast food, especially if i can call in advance so online menus are a huge plus!

The new Local on Sunset has a soup and salad bar as well as healthy sandwiches. But I think a meal there will set you back at least $15.
Same with Flore, if you like vegan food, or Comfort Cafe, which has several healthy and/or low carb options.
Even the Whole Foods salad bar will end up costing around $8 a portion usually.
If you really want cheap, you have to buy your own food and prepare it ahead of time. Otherwise it's hard to get healthy food at a decent price.
I think there are a few organic hamburger/fauxburger places around West Hollywood now? O Burger, Zen Burger? Anyone know?

Are you referring to the new place next to what used to be Johnny's bar in Silver Lake? Any opinions on food/quality?

I second the Soy Cafe, but again, eating out pretty much anywhere these days costs $10-15 for lunch, which is not my idea of cheap, although maybe it is other people's.
Outside of Wendy's et all, the only cheap food these days is taco trucks, or maybe a chicken tarna sandwich at Zankou.
Re: Local, it seemed very promising, I just had a vegeburger but everything is top quality ingredients. Looking forward to trying breakfast there soon.

Just go to Yuca's.

Order a carne asada or machaca burrito, ask them to hold the beans because they're cooked in lard, and you've got a cheap ($3.50) and healthy (lean protein with complex carbs and low fat) meal.

Or, you can throw caution to the wind and order up a basic hamburger. For under $2 you get a burger that In-N-Out can only aspire to only its finest days.
