St Charles, Mo ?

Been searching the past boards for places to eat at this weekend- we are staying in St. Charles so maybe one dinner there would be handy. Last time we ate at a place on Main- something related to Lewis and Clark maybe? Any other ideas? Have always had a night at Lorenzo's on past visits and really enjoyed that place. Looks like Sidney Street and Niche are hot> any suggestions greatly appreciated.

  1. I don't get to St. Charles county often, but when I do it's Napoli pizza or Crazy Sushi - both in St. Peter.

Edit: Crazy has very good sushi, but if you're willing to go to Chesterfield - and it seems like you are - Yoshi's has, IMHO, the best sushi in the St. Louis region. Tell him that Richard, the lunch guy in the scooter, sent you.

Thanks Richard ! we are open to all thoughts and do like Sushi. So St. Charles is a wasteland for foodies?

I don't eat there often enough to know the "scene". I'm a huge sushi fan (I apprenticed to a Japanese chef), so I'm always checking places. Not being a fan of S. Louis style pizza (other than the crust, sauce, and cheese it's not bad -- although I'm certainly aware many people love it) so I'm always also on the lookout for real pizza.).

You an certainly search the site. Any one else?

St. Charles County has about 30 of the best Applebees in the country.

    2. Fratelli's is very good. It is off of Zumbehl road in a Dierbergs shopping center.
Richard's suggestion of Yoshi's is right on. Well worth the drive. Also along that same drive is Anni Gunns.

In general though St. Charles is not a foodie destination.

So sad. I was there just 8 or 10 years ago, and I so fell in love with St. Charles.
Main street was so interesting, and the bar and grills, they were so much better than anything I ever had encountered before.
Unpretentious, best bar food I ever had, and the people that work there just seem so, I don't know, casual?
It kind of made me mad. I wanted to just scream, "Damn, don't you know this place is incredible".
I honestly read the on line want ads for 2 years.
I can't wait to get back to St. Charles. I hope you don't change too much.
