Hot Lobster Roll Mid/Lower Cape?
Making my annual pilgrimage to the Cape Sept. 16-24. Have my old faves that I'll haunt for all the stuff I crave all year, and some new places gleaned from CH to try(thanks, Chowhounds!), but is there anywhere from Orleans to P-town to get a good HOT lobster roll? Or anywhere that sells picked lobster meat so I can make them like I do at home?
TIA!

Not to be too much of a stickler, but Orleans to P-town is technically the Outer Cape. I almost didn't open this post, b/c I am not all that familiar with Mid/Lower Cape chow. That being said, the majority of good places on the Outer Cape do close shop pretty quickly after Labor Day. I would recommend Friendly Fisherman and Mac's fish markets, but I would call ahead to see whether they're open. If you DO want to go to the Mid Cape, though, I think the Sesuit Harbor Cafe in Dennis is open until October. Not sure if they'll do a hot lobster roll, though

Don't want to rain on your parade but a few years ago, I went to Arnold's post-Labor Day to get my dreamed of fill of fried clams and they were closed. I too, will be in the area that weekend and for both our sakes, I hope I'm wrong!

re: lonborgfan
Last year, they were open Fri, Sat & Sun only, but that's better than nothing. All the years we've been going to the Cape, and last year was the 1st time we went to Arnold's(and the real ridiculous part is that its probably less than a mile from our house), but we fell in love immediately. Hope the weekend schedule(at least) is still going strong this year for both our sakes!

re: JenJeninCT
Thanks JenJen. Maybe I'll see you there. I'll be the one with the fried whole belly clams and a huge smile on my face. : )
And btw, if you're ever running late & want Arnold's, their take-out is just as good as eat-in. Comes in handy when you just can't handle the long in-season waits.

re: phelana
Thanks, phelana. I'll be in Eastham, and generally travel between Orleans and P-town. I know Friendly Fisherman has a fish market, but they never seem to be open when we're there (always after Labor Day). I'm not sure about Mac's in Wellfleet- I know at least 1 of their places closes for the season this weekend.
And if there is anyplace you think I just have to try before I die somewhere beyond my normal roaming grounds (or even within them), feel free to advise.
