A great little gem in Arlington

Went to Layalina in Arlington for the first time last night. It is a lebanese restaurant located on Wilson Blvd a little west of Ballston. From the outside it looks like a joint but is actually quite charming and romantic on the inside. The food was also quite good. I would not travel from too far away to go there but it is an excellent choice for that type of food if you are in the Arlington area.

Mmmm...the chicken schwarma fatteh (sp?) is reason enough for me to go there. It is an obscenly delicious mix of chicken schwarma, warm pita crisps, chickpeas, and sauce. Give it a try next time you are there :-)

Syrian, actually, though nobody would show up if they advertised as that. As a longtime Arlingtonian, I've always wanted to like it. The plating is very pretty and carefully constructed, but the flavors were muted both times I ate there.
