Blue Rock BBQ, San Jose

lunch today, a very satisfactory pulled pork sandwich for $6 including one side. sauce was tomato based and mild. they have been open for 2+ months and are keeping their menu simple. right now they have pulled pork, baby back ribs, cuban sandwich, pulled chicken and a sirloin sandwich. Met the owner, Owen, saw his kitchen and his smokers. he's doing good work and it's really hard to find adequate bbq in these parts so I encourage you to give them a shot. Will go back again tomorrow (I hope) to try the sirloin.

The website is www.bluerockbbq.com

I am not in any way affiliated with the Blue Rock, I am just a bbq fan and want to encourage this type of operation.

Went back for lunch today, had the sirloin sandwich with caramelized onions. It's good, but yesterday's pulled pork was better. I have attached a photo of their Cuban sandwich which my friend was very happy with. Lots of pulled pork in there with ham and other fixin's.

Thanks for the report and website link. Have you tried their chicken (quoted from their menu below)? The white BBQ sauce is intriguing...

Haven't tried it (yet.) the sauce does sound intriguing, I think I am going back today for lunch for the sirloin, but, I guess I can ask for a sample of the chicken too.

Hey Reuel, thanks for sussing this out and sharing. The international side of the menu looks interesting too, but maybe those lie ahead. I'm very interested in hearing how you like the sirloin.
