Good pizza and pasta resto in lower manhattan?

MellieMac Sep 3, 2008 08:46 AM

Any suggestions for a restaurant below 30th, east or west that has good brick oven pizza and yummy pastas? Could be fancy or casual. Price not an issue. And we have to be able to get in tonight. I tohught Little Italy would be fun but dont know if there is anything down there. Thanks in advance!

Looking to appeal to teenagers and adults who all like pizza and pasta. didnt want just a pizza joint. Was considering Otto. Will also check out Resto.

        I forgot, there's also Vezzo!
None of these are your typical walkin pizza joints....Otto has the most options...I'd suggest reservations there.

We ended up at Ottimo on west 24th. Looooved it. Old fashioned Italian with the antipasti choices out on a big table. Lovely bar area. GREAT staff. Delicious pizza.from a wood oven. Wonderful pasta. Dean Martin on the CD. And quiet enough for conversation. No packed hysteria with long waits. I look forward to spending some cold weather time there. Really charming.
