Looking for a nicer type restaurant on the line of Sunsets or Lord Fletchers. Any recommendations are welcome.

Thank you,

  1. Northcoast would probably fit your definition of "nicer" and it is definitely lakeside. Haven't eaten there in a couple of years so can't comment on the current menu.

      1. If you are looking for "lakeside" there is not a lot. You mentioned Sunsets and Lord Fletchers. The others are Northcoast, Maynards and St. Alban's Boathouse. After that, you are off the lake. Sunset's gives you a view of the lake but there is a train track intervening. Al & Alma's Supper Club is northwoods cozy and has cruise boats but its land restaurant is off the lake.

Gianni's, Blue Point, Patricks and Wayzata Eatery in Wayzata are good but not lakeside. Biella and Jake O'Connor's Public House in Excelsior are on Water Street and a short stroll to the Excelsior Commons. The Hazellwood Grill & Tap Room in Tonka Bay is well off the water but recommended.

Across the street from the lake in Spring Park but with a lake view is the Tonka Grill & BBQ. It is not fine dining but it is good authentic BBQ that seems to go unnoticed in the Twin Cities.

Not on Lake Minnetonka but on Lake Waconia is the new Lola's Lakehouse (formerly the site of Nancy's Landing). It has dockside outdoor eating and unlike Lord Fletcher's and Maynard's provides the full menu and not an abbreviated bar food menu.
