In home caterer needed

  • 3

I find myself back in Boston for the first time in 10 years, and I could use some advice on finding a caterer quickly.

My father-in-law passed away this week. I'm helping to organize a memorial reception next week (probably Thursday evening) at the home of a close family friend. We would like to get the event catered. We expect approximately 75 people and the house will be open for 4 hours. Looking for appetizers or finger food, not a sit down meal. She lives in the Roslindale / Dorchester area.

Since we've lived in New Orleans for a long time, I don't have a good idea of an appropriate price range...somewhere between not skimping and budget is no object. The group will be mostly adventerous eaters...except the widow can not eat gluten.

Any help, advice, comments would be most appreciated. thank you

  1. I recommend Cuisine Chez vous, which is based in Somerville. They did my wedding several years ago. We were so happy with them, we hired them once since then for a birthday party -- food wonderful, service superb. I can't say enough about them. You can certainly talk to them about diet restrictions, they were willing to work with us on changes to their usual offerings, and can actually make almost anything. When we picked them for our wedding, they were NOT the most expensive caterer we looked at -- they are probably mid to high in the price range.

    1. Try Tables of Content. They are right in Roslindale!

      1. Thank you both for replying. We decided to go with Mississippi's after a neighbor's recommendation. (http://www.mississippis.com/menu/over...). We went with the drop-off option. I appreciate the responses and advice!
