Corn dishes

Now that corn season is in full swing I thought I'd repeat my prior question: what are the best sweet corn dishes around town? Please dont say the corn at toro--I got it!!! Thanks! Wb

The sweet corn soup with basil oil that was on L'Andana's restaurant week menu was outstanding - I would go there just for that - may be worth a call to see if it is on the regular menu.

Chiara Bistro in Westwood has had a delicious corn bisque on their seasonal specials menu.

salad - this one seriously simple and healthy but tastes amazing for some reason.

corn - just kernels, best boil fresh and slice off the corn rather than using tinned (4-5 corns)
          1 pack cherry tomatoes halved
a couple of avocadoes - cut in small dice
a large bunch of corriander (cilantro)
1 red large red onion - small dice

for dressing - a couple of limes just squized into salad - nothing else. The sweet corn and lime work so beatifully - make sure to try next time you have a bbq!

I just made the exact same salad except a couple of diced jalapenos from ur garden! Back to topic, Vee Vees in JP has a great lobster corn succotash but I think it was a special.

I had these pasta dishes in the last couple of weeks, both delicious:

Corn agnolotti with chanterelles at No 9 Park.

Corn raviolini with rock shrimp and pancetta at Prezza.

I have to seriously second that corn agnolotti at No 9 - easily one the best pasta dishes I've had recently. The sweet corn absolutely held the starring role and was completely delicious. Darn it, Rubee, now I need to get back there for more!

I had the corn risotto two weeks ago at the Union and it was wonderful. I'd just check to see if it's still on the menu.
